In Redding, we think planning your meeting should be as fun and easy as catching a trout under the world’s largest sundial. So whether you want to know where in the world this Redding place is, or you know exactly where you’re going but you are ready for the fine details, we have answers for you!

Where is Redding?

Redding is 3 hours northeast of San Francisco, 2 hours south of Medford, Oregon, 2-1/2 hours north of Sacramento, and 2-1/2 hours inland from the ocean, in northern California. Interstate 5 runs right through town, making for easy access.

How can we get there?

Interstate 5 and several other highways pass through or very near Redding including highway 44 and 299. If you’re more into wings than wheels, fly into Redding through San Francisco, or land in Sacramento and catch a shuttle.

What is there for groups to do in Redding?

If outdoor adventures were foods, Redding would be the buffet at Caesar’s Palace. (We have buffets and casinos, too.) Our hiking, paddling, cycling, fishing, climbing, boating, geocaching, and winter sports all make Redding a fun place to meet, and we even have glaciers and caves! Get everyone in your group on a stand up paddleboard or in a raft, gather ‘round on horseback, or rent bikes to cruise the trails together. Race each other up to Whiskeytown Falls, tour the botanical gardens, play a few innings at Big League Dreams, or just relax in one of the many parks.

We need to stay indoors.

Redding also has shopping, museums, galleries, and performing arts venues if you like to stay indoors. The convention hotels can host you and any number of activities in their many spaces, as can the many meeting venues around town. Book a DJ, magician, or animal expert to entertain you indoors!

Is there anyone who can help us plan?

Yes! Hotel staff are pros at accommodating groups, and Redding venues and businesses are visitor-friendly. If you need further assistance, please contact our office- we love to help groups optimize their time in Redding!

Is anything fun happening when we're there?

Definitely! Check out our events calendar, and see who’s performing, competing, cooking, etc. while you’re here.

What is your dining like?

Redding is a very convenient and affordable place to be hungry. If what your group is craving is ‘across town’, you’re only 15 minutes away! Grab-and-go because you have to get back in time for the afternoon session, or order that second bottle of wine because the patio is lovely. You can also find the right banquet room for the whole group: it’s all in our dining guide, X.

Where should we stay?

Redding has 3000+ hotel rooms in which to choose, with plenty of your favorite national chains and independent establishments, even bed and breakfasts and RV parks. Find everyone’s good night’s sleep here.

Our group loves public transportation. What’s Redding’s setup?

The Redding Area Bus Authority, or RABA, can help everyone get around and see the sights. There are also cab companies waiting for your call.

Is Redding a safe place for visitors?

Yes! While crime exists in all cities, visitors can expect a worry-free vacation in Redding by keeping their gear and valuables secured.

Where can my group find more information once we get there?

There’s a visitor information center at 844 Sundial Bridge Drive, Redding, CA 96001, inside the Turtle Bay Exploration Park Cafe, adjacent to Sundial Bridge. You’ll find maps, brochures, and nice people to talk to while you wait for your cappuccino.
