“My Classic Car” TV Host Dennis Gage to Appear at 26th Annual Redding, CA Kool April Nites Enjoy Nine Full Days of Classic Car Fun from April 18th – 26th 2015 as Part of the Redding Unrestricted Spring Events Series

Redding, CA – April 9, 2015 – This year the 26th annual Kool April Nites classic car show will be featured on the Dennis Gage, My Classic Car show. Over the past 11 years, My Classic Car has become an icon car hobbyists and is syndicated across North America on popular motorsports networks including the Speed Channel. Gage will join in the fun at this spectacular 9-day event showcasing thousands of classic and vintage cars throughout the northern CA town of Redding. Gage will attend the city wide Friday “Nite” Cruise and the big car show event on Saturday at the Redding Civic Auditorium. 

Hear the roar of the hot engines as thousands of incredible classic cars and trucks roll into Redding for parades, show & shines, competitions, concerts, food, fun and general admiration. It’s such a big event offering so many show & shines that virtually any parking lot in town is a good spot to watch the beautiful cars cruise in and out. Admission to the big April 25th Saturday car show is $10 at the gate for the general spectators or can be pre-purchases for $8 at local Napa Auto Parts stores, Raley's Supermarket on Lake Blvd and the Record Searchlight Newspaper.

The Friday “Nite” Cruise as well as many of the other events including some concerts are free to all spectators. Get your parade spot early because the sidewalks will be packed for this incredible parade of custom hot rods and restored classics. Bring the whole family - grandma and grandpa will get nostalgic over everything vintage, and there’s plenty for the kids to see and do, too!

The $50.00 fee includes entry into the Friday “Nite” Cruise, a parking pass and  admittance into the big Saturday Car Show, as well as two all-access wristbands for the live entertainment on Friday and Saturday night.

One of the oldest single-track races in the country kicks off in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, famous for its epic loop, friendly atmosphere, and incredible views. It uses the best of Whiskeytown’s many trails to offer huge climbs and long, technical descents. A portion of downtown Redding will be closed to traffic and turned into a temporary ‘trail’ for this family walking and biking festival where pedestrians can bring their bikes, skateboards, and  walking shoes to enjoy the open street concept. This family friendly event is an “inside-out parade,” where people can participate in activities and enjoy a walk or ride on a beautiful spring Sunday in downtown Redding where you can slow down and enjoy the local retail shops and dining establishments because the streets are closed to traffic.  Downtown Redding is a short distance from nearby lodging and the Sacramento River National Recreation Trail so come for more than the day to enjoy all nature has to offer.

Saddle up for the 66th Annual Redding Rodeo! Attracting mutton busters and steer wrestlers from all over the United States, the prestigious Redding Rodeo is an event filled with excitement for all ages. It kicks off with a steak feed BBQ and dance (with karaoke championships, no less!) on May 9th, followed by a 4-day PRCA rodeo starting May 13th through Saturday May 16, 2015 with the final performance being the PRCA Challenge of Champions Performance. This is where the best PRCA Cowboys and Cowgirls compete for added prize money.  It is always a thrilling performance. This performance will be filmed and televised on CBS Sports. Join Rivers for Change for the third annual California 100! The 100-mile, one-day paddling race on the Sacramento River begins under the Sundial Bridge in Redding and finishes near Chico. This moving water round-the-clock event is open to all paddle sport enthusiasts in sea kayaks, marathon canoes, surfskis, standup paddleboards, outriggers, prone paddleboards and anything else you can paddle. Dinghies, centerboard, multi-hull and keel boats will race on Whiskeytown Lake over Memorial Day weekend for the 51st annual Whiskeytown Memorial Regatta. The series of races is free to spectators at Brandy Creek Beach, the only thing you pay is the day-use fee for Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. The fee to race in the Regatta is $55.00. Early entries received by May 16th receive a $10 discount and US Sailing members receive a $5.00 discount.
