Trail Start Coordinates: 40.49441629, -122.4987388

Description: Springtime is particularly beautiful with the many wild flowers. However, stunning views of Clear Creek Canyon and the Sacramento Valley await anyone who takes this beautiful loop trail at any time of the year. Much of the trail is within open grasslands and oak woodlands which enhances vista opportunities. The openness also help reduce the potential for startling other trail users. Look for evidence of some of the earliest placer gold mining in California. Unlike other areas, gold mining was over quickly thus allowing natural recovery and protecting early mining-related features. See if you can find an old cabin site or trace the route of a long-abandoned ditch!
