Surrounded on three sides by millions of acres of public land including Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Lassen Volcanic National Park, McArthur Burney Falls Memorial State Park, spectacular Mt. Shasta, and the pristine Trinity Alps, Redding is the perfect ‘base camp' for exploring the hotbed of adventure travel in California! Redding is also home to the magnificent Sundial Bridge, the newly renovated Cascade Theatre, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, and the Sacramento River National Recreation Trail.

Numerous backcountry roads and scenic highways and byways--including the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway All American Road--offer a great alternative when traveling to your favorite outdoor destination. Don't forget to bring your GPS so you can experience GeoCaching--there are nearly 200 geocaches in the Redding area just waiting to be discovered!
