Downtown

Several years of revitalization efforts in Redding’s downtown paid off in August 2006 when California State Parks awarded Redding a California Main Street certification—the first in four years. Through training and technical assistance, it is one of the most effective programs to help revitalize historic commercial cores of towns and cities across the state.

With the help of Viva Downtown Redding and the Downtown Redding Business Association, downtown Redding is becoming a local hotspot for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Downtown also hosts Redding’s MarketFest event in Library Park, featuring live music, a Certified Farmer’s Market, food and beverage vendors and arts and crafts. Redding’s Beer and Wine Festival is also held downtown on the streets in front of the historic Cascade Theatre.

For a more social, cultural, and economic view of Redding, why not visit Downtown today?
