CASA Superhero Run Nov. 4 - Walk, run, or fly for a good cause

By TJ Holmes | 10/18/2017

Attention all superheroes: you’re needed in Redding!

Children and families and everyone else are welcome to visit Redding and dress up as your favorite superheroes to participate in the fifth annual CASA Superhero Run on Nov. 4 at the Redding Civic Auditorium.

Whether you walk, run, or fly, suit up with your cape, tights, and mask and race for a good cause.

CASA, known as Court Appointed Special Advocates for children, is a national program that has been part of the Northern Valley Catholic Social Service for 16 years, providing court advocacy services to abused and neglected children. Its goal is to be the powerful voice for children and give them the emotional support, stability, and care that every child deserves.

The event features a Little Heroes Dash for children 10 and under, a Superhero 5K, and a Superhero 10K. A pancake breakfast is included in registration fee for all entries while the Little Heroes also receive a cape! The cost per registration is $10 for Little Heroes, $25 for 5K and $35 for the 10K. Register here today!

If you can’t make it to the event but still want to support the cause, CASA is offering you to be a Virtual Superhero Runner for $25.

Book your hotel stay in Redding and make it a weekend of fall fun with plenty of things to do. Hike to waterfalls in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, taking a tour of the Lake Shasta Caverns National Natural Landmark or check out the Turtle Bay Exploration Park Museum and McConnell Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.

So, what are you waiting for? Make use of your Halloween costume for one more day or grab an old one, and assemble the superhero gang to descend on Redding. All superheroes are welcome!
