Just Around the Corner....

By Admin User | 03/09/2012
Spring is starting to show and soon there will be mass amounts of eye catching colors covering the grounds of Redding and the surrounding areas. There's no escaping the beauty of the wildflowers while visiting the area. You'll even catch them from the comfort of your vehicle!†We have some excellent spots picked out for you: 1) Take a nice stroll, jog, bike ride, or segway ride along the Sacramento River National Recreation Trail. You'll be viewing colors from native plants of Redding's†Mediterranean-like climate. 2) Another great place to visit to do some wildflower viewing is Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. This area has numerous trails so it's never crowded. You won't want to miss out on the four different waterfalls either! 3) If you're feeling like a nice little day hike, drive up to Castle Crags State Park and there you'll find 13 kinds of native orchids. You may have to wait for some warmer weather to see them completely bloomed, but there's some other beauties to be seen along the trails! 4) Lassen Volcanic National Park is also a fantastic place to view blooming beauties. There's meadows and endless miles of trails to be explored and many mountain growing flowers to see. You'll have to wait until the snow is melted, but it's definitely worth the wait! Of course we haven't named every place that offers great wildflower viewing, so to get some more information check out our website! We hope you enjoyed this weeks post! -The Redding Team
