What's New!

By | 03/03/2012

For all those equestrian enthusiasts, we have some great improvements for you to know about! Lassen Volcanic National Park has made some enhancements on their stock corrals. The corrals and associated campsites are located at Butte, Juniper, and Summit lakes. Each facility now has two separate metal panel stock corrals with gates and watering troughs. The new metal panels are a major improvement from the former rope corrals that served for many years.

What else do they offer you ask? Each stock corral offers a group campsite containing a picnic table, food storage locker, fire ring, and vault toilet facilities. Drinking water is also available for visitors and stock at all sites except Juniper Lake, where water is only available for horses. All of the sites are in close proximity to trailheads that access the 138 miles of park trail available for stock use.

If you ask us, this sounds like an exciting excursion awaiting our horseback riding fans! If you want to get up there and catch all the beautiful park views and get a taste of some local history, reservations are being accepted starting April 1st.

It's time to start planning ahead on your vacation. To reserve your spot call 1-877-444-6777 or go to the reservation website at We hope you enjoyed this week's blog post! Until Next time, -The Redding Team
