The Sundial Film Festival, Redding's annual celebration of those behind the lens, returns to the Cascade Theatre this March! Organized and presented by the Active 20-30 Club of Redding Foundation, the festival showcases the talent and diversity of filmmakers and photographers in a variety of film and photography categories. Films are less than 30 minutes in length and can be of any genre or style. This March, the SWEAT Running Club of Redding will hold its annual NorCal John Frank Memorial Run. The race remembers a young man who excelled in distance running at Central Valley High School and went on to run for Oregon State before his untimely death. Boston by way of Redding may sound like a curious route, but if you're a west coast marathoner, it's a great course. The Redding Marathon is now a qualifying race for the famous Boston Marathon! The Redding race is put on by the SWEAT Running Club, which has been promoting health and fitness in the north state through running, walking, biking, and swimming since 1975. Per the Active 20-30 Club of Redding, "the Redding Lighted Christmas Parade is a tradition that dates back to 1982. The first parade was organized by the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce and was originally held on Park Marina Drive. After a few years, the parade route was moved to Downtown Redding, where it remains today.
