Boating in Redding & Northern California

If you like feeling the wind in your hair, skip the open road and head for somewhere…well, opener, and far more refreshing. Hit the lake! Redding’s hundreds of miles of shoreline are calling to you, whether you prefer a slow ride with a peaceful view, or high speeds across the tops of the waves. Water recreation is what we do best around here, thanks to our sunny summers and 2 lakes to choose from. Jet skis are great for exploring the coves and inlets of Shasta Lake, and ski boats keep it lively when you add tubes, skis, and wakeboards on either Shasta or Whiskeytown. Redding has plenty of outfitters for everything from swim trunks to wakeskates- you can even buy a boat when you’re in town! Not ready to pull the trigger? Rent boats, Sea Doos, and gear from any of the different marinas. With Shasta Lake offering as many as 365 miles of shoreline, Whiskeytown boasting 3,200 surface acres, and both lakes being home to coves, inlets, and beaches, it’s hard to figure out why anyone would spend their summer anywhere else! So what do you say: are you on board to boat around Redding this year?
