Empty Nester

If you have an empty nest and the need for an adventure, we want to shake your hand because you’re doing something right! Consider this your red carpet, because Redding loves empty nesters. We have attractions and activities that will be sure to keep the scrapbooks full and the fish tales long, too. Empty nesters of all backgrounds appreciate Redding’s mild, sunny winters and the lack of humidity in the summers. They come for the paved, scenic walking trails, the full calendar of events, and of course the fishing! Every April, hundreds of empty nesters come to Redding for the NorCal Jazz Festival and the Kool April Nites extravaganza of classic cars. There are history and art museums, too, a 24-hour casino, and enough shopping and dining to write home about. With all this conveniently located on I-5, we wouldn’t be surprised if Redding became the empty nester capital of California!
